The United Kitchen Apprenticeship is 13 month paid apprenticeship programme

Starting twice a year, apprentices spend 6 months working in the professional kitchen at Brigade Bar & Bistro followed by 7 months with one of our employer partners.

For the first six months apprentices will:

  • Work in the kitchen at Brigade Bar & Bistro (40 hours per week including learning hours)
  • Study towards an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery, including classroom-based learning and practical assessments delivered by Babcock Training
  • Learn from experts during Workshops and Master classes focusing on specific skills
  • Participate in 1:1, and group mentoring, sessions to support with personal administration and employability skills
  • Assist with community projects working with corporate firms and local organisations
  • Receive regular support from BF staff for any personal matters or benefits/housing related issues

 

For the following seven months apprentices will:

  • Secure paid work placements with BF Employer Partners
  • Continue their NVQ Level 2 assessments from Babcock
  • Receive regular and continued support from BF staff for any personal matters or benefits/housing related issues
